Months ago, I was sitting high up in the church balcony (my unofficial upper room), praying my never-ending prayer: God, what should I do with my life in this season?
And wouldn’t you know it — the floodgates opened.
In the weeks that followed, a new personal mission statement began to take shape. It wasn’t polished. It wasn’t practical. And it certainly wasn’t safe. But it felt right for this really old man.
So here’s where I’m heading in 2025: I’m widening the lens once again. I’m wandering where there is no path. I’m choosing to live with renewed purpose. I’m daring to dream louder than my doubts – and this might just be the best season of my life.
Did it make sense? Not really. But then again, when has my faith journey ever been about making sense? Each word of that mission reinforced something I’ve always believed: discipleship doesn’t have an expiration date. (Well, maybe when you die. Maybe.)
So this little pamphlet, Lead Now! is one of the early fruits of this new chapter. There’s more to come. A lot more – and it’s coming fast!
This morning, sitting at McDonald’s with my coffee (because divine inspiration sometimes comes with caffeine), I realized: This new idea might just cost you less than a Big Mac Value Meal. But what you might gain... that’s priceless.

As always, with faith, laughter, and a bit of holy awe,
